With the certainty that Army commanders are responsible for the murder of at least some of the Ayotzinapa normalistas, hundreds of members of this school staged a protest at Military Camp number 1, several of whom threw firecrackers and stones at the soldiers.

There is no record of a similar action; In a couple of hours the site went from the pristine image, typical of military maintenance, to the chaos of detonations, dilapidated fences, twisted barricades, paint and stones in the patios and gardens.

The events began minutes after 11 in the morning with the arrival of buses at Conscripto Avenue, in the border area of Naucalpan and Mexico City; First, the transport of the relatives of the disappeared youths appeared, and then about 20 trucks, from which boys with their faces covered, several with the sports uniform of the Normal Rural de Ayotzinapa, got off.

Even with the road stopped, at that moment everything seemed part of a common demonstration, but suddenly the young people were already in rows facing the uniformed men, who, in turn, were ready with helmets, batons and shields.

It was evident that the police, civilians and military, had previous information for the design of the operation. The chiefs were coordinating behind, giving orders, and after a while a dispersal tank appeared.

Before the rally, a young man climbed the columns of the main entrance, where it read below the national coat of arms: Military Camp No. 1-A. Gen. Div. Álvaro Obregón. gate 1. The boy took several cans of spray paint out of his backpack and began to write: assassins Y We are missing 43.

His classmates passed him the broom with the paste to paste the posters with the statement it was the army; others raised blankets: Don’t bury the truth in the military archives.

The first noise was not from the firecrackers, but from the unison and powerful cry of They took them alive, we want them alive! With that expression several of the protesters began to speak.

investigate the elite

Vidulfo Rosales, lawyer for the families of the victims, demanded an investigation by the elite of the Army, for the infiltration they made in the ranks of the normalistas. That (Salvador) Cienfuegos be investigatedSecretary of National Defense during the six-year term of Enrique Peña Nieto, because those covert ops deserve jailheld.

The demand is that the Army not obstruct the investigation of this serious violation of human rights that occurred eight years ago, he added.

Rosales was emphatic that there objective tests that 25 young people were admitted to the 27th Infantry Battalion, in Iguala; some were killed there and others tortured and handed over to the criminal group United Warriors.

Implicitly, the lawyer also anticipated what would happen minutes later, warning that those from Ayotzinapa have a form of energetic, strong protest, which we are not going to give upand touches the authorities contain it within the unrestricted framework of human rights.

For this reason, he cut off, no government is going to tell society how to protest, because that type of limit is censorship.

After other people gave their message, the relatives of the victims and the women began to board the buses to leave.

However, a large group, the youngest, remained in place and suddenly began to throw stones and explosives that ricocheted off the police.

Shields up, defend against projectiles!shouted a civilian chief. In the background the bugles of the war band continued to sound.

Still on the defensive and with the row of shields making a ceiling, the tank was activated, but the young men had already left.

As much as they yelled at them there is pure pressthe police and military were still upset. Back off, back offthey shouted euphorically, despite the fact that the only counterattack order had been to the wrong target: the reporters and members of the Marabunta humanitarian civil group.

The capital police corporation reported that as a result of the firecrackers, rockets and Molotov cocktails, 39 uniformed personnel were injured: 21 from the Ministry of Citizen Security (three had to be taken to the hospital), 13 from the Ministry of National Defense and five from the Guard. National.

The capital’s police said that the demonstration concluded without confrontations, so mothers and fathers of the 43 normalista students from Ayotzinapa, Guerrero, held their rally with freedom and guarantees.
