The Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP) of Cuba reported that until midnight on Friday, September 23, 19 new cases of COVID-19 in the country thanks to the analysis of 1,874 samples during the day.
The most recent part The health agency indicates that during the last 24 hours there were no deaths related to the disease, so the 8,530 deaths since the start of the pandemic remain, which represents a fatality rate of 0.77%.

Currently, 130 people are hospitalized, of which 59 are suspected of having been infected with the new coronavirus, while the number of confirmed active patients was set at 71. In the intensive care units, 4 patients are receiving care, all reported as seriously confirmed.
Of the new patients, 6 are women and 13 men. Of the total, 13 were contacts of confirmed cases and the source of infection of 6 patients could not be established.
As for their ages, they are distributed as follows: under 20 years old (10), from 20 to 39 years old (4), from 40 to 59 years old (1) and over 60 (4).
During the day, nine provinces reported new cases, but none exceeded five confirmed cases. Holguín was the most affected territory, with four new patients.
The Minsap also confirmed that the two evacuated at the beginning of the pandemic and the 57 returned to their countries remain, and that 189 medical discharges had been granted on the day.
