The survey conducted by the Institute of Peruvian Studies (IEP)carried out from September 19 to 22, informs that 50% of the citizens have already defined their vote for the mayor of Lima for these elections 2022. Meanwhile, the other 50% can be key to defining the winner on October 2.
According to the investigation, 32% of voters indicate that although they have a inclination towards one or the other candidate, is still willing to change his mind. Regarding this, the remaining 14% have not yet decided or have not been informed about the options to choose in this electoral process.
For example, the IEP survey shows that the candidates of Daniel Urresti (We Can) and Rafael López Aliaga (Popular Renovation) are on the podium and are followed by George Forsyth (We are Peru). But, unlike the first, the representative of the party of the heart has risen with respect to the last poll in August.
Urresti is in first place with 19.4%, but previously held 25.4%. López Aliaga follows with 16.7%; however, like his contender, last month he got 22%. The opposite happens with Forsyth, who is with 16.3%, although, a detail that comes to light is that his intention to vote increased after the 13.3% registered in the previous survey.
A few days after the electoral process, the candidate Gonzalo Alegría, from the political party Together for Peru, also registered an increase, who shows a preference of 7.4%, an increase of six points. He is followed by Elizabeth León, from the Front of Hope, with 2.4%.
