The general director of the National Council for the Promotion and Support of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (prompyme), Porfirio Peralta, said today during his visit to the municipality of Higüey, that he has a fund of 400 million pesos that will be distributed in the different provinces to help the companies most affected by the hurricane Fiona.
Among the provinces, he cited La Altagracia, El Seibo, Hato Mayor, La Romana, Monte Plata, Duarte, La Vega, Santiago, Samaná and María Trinidad Sánchez, places where they will be working to inject capital into companies affected by the phenomenon.
He revealed that the first installment of 30,670,000 pesos will be delivered from today to about 12 clients of the council.
highlighted the participation of women in prompymerevealing that 75% of the loans of that entity are acquired by females.
In relation to customers affected by the cyclone Fiona, stated that they will have “four months of grace time” so that they can relaunch their business. This will include the payment of principal and interest.
Those affected who require an injection of capital to reactivate the operation of their businesses, who have current loans, will be able to renew their loan for a larger amount, according to their needs at the time.
Within the recovery program, it announced a reduction in the interest rate to 10% for services and businesses and 6% for small industries, with grace periods of up to six months and terms that reach 72 months.

He revealed that they will be identifying the microentrepreneurs of subsistence -which are those people who sometimes have a small business and are the employees and do not have insurance-, therefore, in coordination with the National Health Insurance (Senasa) they will join the Subsidized Regime.
