They urge to make the commitments of the Generation Equality Forum a reality
The Deputy Secretary General of the United Nations, Amina Mohammed, thanked Mexico for its commitment to continue supporting the process of the Generation Equality Forum after having been the host country in March 2021, in the commemoration of the 26th anniversary of the Beijing Platform for Action.
At the event in which the Executive Director of UN Women, Sima Bahous, and the Minister for Europe and International Affairs of the Government of France, Catherine Colonna, were present, the need to make the more than 2,500 commitments of the Generation Equality Forum a reality was highlighted. of which Mexico and France were host countries.
The foregoing, given that at this moment of accountability, UN Women only has data on 31% of all commitments, so the need for greater accountability was raised; increased resources to meet commitments; and creating more catalytic commitments.
