The motion was presented after the interpellation to Willy Huertalast Wednesday, September 7, a measure motivated by the changes in high command of the National Police of Peru (PNP).
Also included was the case of Colonel PNP Harvey Colchadodenounced before the Inspectorate of the institution by President Pedro Castillo due to the intervention in the Government Palace to locate Yenifer Paredessister-in-law of the head of state.
It should be noted that Colchado is the coordinator of the special team that supports the prosecution in investigations involving the government, whom weeks ago they tried to remove.
According to the motion, Huerta’s departure is justified in “to prevent similar events from continuing that affect the institutionality of the National Police and presumably endorse an interference in the investigations of autonomous bodies regarding the disciplinary process initiated against PNP Colonel Harvey Colchado”.
The censorship filed against Huerta took into account these questions and specifies that the changes in the direction of the National Police “represent a repeated interference with the autonomy, organization and normal functioning of the PNP”.
