The Subcommittee on Constitutional Accusations approved declaring the complaint against Freddy Diazcongressman suspended after the accusation of rape made against him by a former employee of his office.
The qualification report made by the technical secretariat of the group chaired by Lady Camones, of Alianza Para el Progreso (APP), raised the origin of the accusation presented by Patricia Chirinos against Díaz.
However, the pre-trial process was declared inadmissible for the probable commission of crimes of rape and rape of people in a state of unconsciousness or impossibility of resisting.
Also included in the same process was the complaint filed for constitutional violation by legislators Edward Málaga, Flor Pablo, Kira Alcarraz, Adriana Tudela, Susel Paredes and Ruth Luque.
In total, the commission of these constitutional infractions is requested for dismissal and disqualification from exercising public office for a period of ten years.
Currently, Freddy Díaz is suspended for a period of 120 days after a report from the Ethics Commission that was approved by Congress. In parallel, the Public Ministry at the level of the National Prosecutor’s Office is investigating the case for the alleged commission of the crime of rape.
