The Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP) of Cuba reported that until midnight on Wednesday, September 21, a total of 16 samples of the 2002 processed in 24 hours had tested positive for the presence of the SARS CoV-2 virus.
The part Ministry of the Minsap confirmed that there had been no deaths related to the COVID-19 in the country, so the number of deaths since the start of the pandemic remained at 8,530, as did the case fatality rate of 0.77%.

123 people remained hospitalized, 48 of them suspected of having been infected with the new coronavirus. The number of confirmed active was set at 75. Four patients were receiving treatment in intensive care units, all reported as serious.
Of the new patients, 11 are women and five are men, with ages distributed as follows: 10 are under 20 years old, four are between 20 and 39 years old, one is between 50 and 59, and the rest is over 60 years old. .
Of the total, 14 were contacts of confirmed cases, while the source of infection of two patients could not be identified.
Eight provinces reported new infections, but none exceeded five cases. Holguín (4) appears as the most affected territory and, of the rest, only Camagüey reached the three patients.
The Minsap also reported 20 medical discharges this day.
