The host of the space indicated that the director of radio station Juventud 100.5 told him that the mayor of the Montes municipality ordered his departure. He said that the dilemma of taking the program off the air or closing the station was present in the conversation
Radio moderator and producer David Cumaná denounced that, on alleged orders from the mayor of the Montes municipality of Sucre state, Tomás Bello, his program called “Montes raise your voice” was taken off the air from the station Juventud 100.5 FM.
Cumaná refers that he was notified on Tuesday, November 20 by the director of the station, Tony Bravo, that his program had to go off the air by order of the mayor. He explained that Bravo told him that it was either the program or the station itself that would have to turn off its broadcasts.
In his opinion, as reported by the media Alternative Press on his Instagram account, the measure taken against that space is due to the fact that “Montes raise your voice” had the objective of making public the community’s complaints regarding problems in public services.
This measure occurs in the midst of the one in 10 policy of “good government” promoted by the National Executive in which Venezuelans are asked to file complaints corresponding to failures in public services so that the authorities optimize them.

Similarly, he warned that Mayor Bello could take action before the National Telecommunications Commission (Conatel) to shut down the station Juventud 100.5 FM.
The aforementioned media outlet reported that Mayor Tomás Bello would have said the following for a group in a messaging service: “please, if someone gets pregnant, do not blame me, I already have 9 boys, I am not Conatel, nor am I the owner. of the station, beware, but face to face with my president Maduro and my governor Gilberto Pinto and I will be there in their defense, the one who understood understood ».
The departure of the radio program “Montes raise your voice” in Sucre occurs six days after Conatel closed five radio stations. The Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) Espacio Público reported the September 14 which were Café 100.9 FM, Radio NVH 102.1 FM, Cool FM, Radio Boom and Mágica FM.
