The construction of the Howard water treatment plant, in the Arraiján district, shows more than 70% progress in its internal infrastructure, as indicated by the director of the National Aqueduct and Sewer Institute (Idaan), Juan Antonio Ducruet, during a tour made to the work in conjunction with local authorities.
This plant will produce about 40 million gallons of water a day to supply communities that are currently supplied by tanker trucks or that do not receive water 24 hours a day.
“This plant is an integral part of this project that will bring water from the Canal basin to the upper part of Arraiján, so that in the end we can solve this problem that is a historical debt,” he said.
Ducruet added that the project must be complemented with new aqueduct projects in Arraijan and Burunga to achieve an equitable distribution of water 24 hours a day.
