The National Agency for Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP) reported this Monday (3) that contracts made by fuel distributors with biodiesel producers totaled 1.3 billion liters of this product for supply in the first two months this year. The contracted volume is about 50% higher than the estimated demand for biodiesel for the period and aims to meet the percentage of mandatory blending with diesel oil.
The commercialization was done in the new model, implemented on January 1st, in compliance with Resolution nº 14/2020 of the National Energy Research Council, and regulated by ANP Resolution nº 857/2021. The new format establishes that distributors contract and buy the product directly from producers, replacing biodiesel auctions.
According to the ANP, the biodiesel supply contracts were successfully informed and validated by fuel distributors and producers, through a system developed by the agency, called SRD-Biodiesel.
“The contracting above the estimated demand demonstrates the success of the new commercialization model already in the first two months of its validity, with the massive adhesion of fuel distributors and producers, guaranteeing the supply to the final consumer throughout the national territory”, says the ANP.
