Two men kill in communities of Santiago

Two men lost their lives in different circumstances in the province of Santiago.

A man was killed by shots fired by unknown persons on Calle 24, Los Ciruelitos sector, in Santiago.

While another died when he was hit while traveling in his vehicle with his partner on the Joaquín Balaguer highway.

The victim was identified as Jalix Andrés Báez, 34, who was wounded by a bullet in the back with no way out. Báez died while receiving medical assistance at the former Presidente Estrella Ureña social security hospital.

The next of kin demanded the arrest of those responsible for the incident. During the beginning of the new year, there were several complaints from people for stray bullets.

In the Santa Rosa neighborhood of the Joaquín Balaguer highway, a 32-year-old man identified as Félix Peralta died. So far the robbery attempt is being handled.

In another event, members of the Preventive Police arrested a man identified as Edinson Modesto de la Cruz in the El Embrujo III sector for having physically and verbally assaulted his mother Soyla A. Estrella.

At the time of his arrest, a portion of cocaine was seized, so the detainee and the substance used will be sent to the Public Ministry.
