The Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR) demanded this Tuesday the cessation of the harassment against the victims, their relatives and human rights defenders in the country, after the Bolivarian National Intelligence Service tried to break into the headquarters of the NGO Provide.
In its Twitter accountthe IACHR expressed its concern about the intentions of the Sebin of enter without any type of judicial order to the headquarters of Proveawhile a press conference was being held with relatives of victims of human rights violations.
These family members denounced the arbitrary arrests of trade unionists and workers Alcides Bracho, Alonso Meléndez, Emilio Negrín, Néstor Astudillo and Reynaldo Cortés; in addition to the human rights defender Gabriel Blanco. All are deprived of liberty under the alleged crimes of conspiracy and association to commit a crime.
For this reason, the Commission reiterated to the Venezuelan State that it cease this type of action and promote “an environment without hostilities, with respect for fundamental freedoms.”

The actions of this police intelligence body coincided with the disclosure in Geneva of the third report of the Determination Mission, according to which the heads of the Sebin and the Dgcim have committed crimes against humanity to repress the opposition, including torture and sexual violence, through actions that were directly ordered by Nicolás Maduro and his closest collaborators.
