Neighbors announce blockade of the Banegas and Puerto Paila bridges to demand the construction of a highway

In order to require the construction of a road section between Okinawa I and the Industrial Park, the neighborhood councils and social organizations of Warnes, Cotoca, Montero and Okinawa They announced that they will install an indefinite blockade on the Banegas and Puerto Paila bridges.

The road closure is scheduled to start at 11:30 p.m. this Tuesday, September 20. Lhe residents of Okinawa will be in charge of the blockade at the Banegas bridge, while the second point of blockade will be in charge of residents of Puerto Paila.

The measure was announced by means of a call public in which they ask transporters, unions, neighborhood associations, farmers, ranchers to join the fight, since the construction of the Okinawa I-Industrial Park highway would be about to be left unfinished.

“We all have to be united, let’s not be indifferent, it’s now or never to be heard (…) They took so much away from us that we have even lost fear,” details the statement signed by the neighborhood councils of Warnes, Okinawa and the Fedjuve del Norte Integrado.
