Price of tickets to Viacha provokes attacks on the mayor (they tried to put a skirt on him) and the councilors are put in danger

Napoleón Yahuasi is the mayor of the municipality of Viacha, located 31 kilometers from La Paz. This Monday the burgomaster was attacked and forced to participate in a concentration of neighbors because he did not know how to solve a problem of tickets for the transport unions that that municipality has.

“Viacha has two transport unions, when they were building the double lane they went through other routes and asked for a price increase because the road was bad; the condition was that the tickets go down when the double track is delivered; it’s already delivered and now they don’t want to lower the price of the ticketthat is the protest of the neighbors”, explained one of the leaders who attended the protest on Monday.

The neighbors wanted to surprise the mayor and gathered at 05:00 in the municipality, but the hours passed and Yahuasi did not appear, around noon someone raised the alarm that he was about three blocks away delivering a work and drinking with the beneficiaries. The mob decided to corner the mayor and shoved him in to the front of the municipality and tried to put a skirt on her.

Between shouts and recriminations, the mayor said that he agreed to participate in the council that was convened for Thursday by the neighbors and at that time the police appeared and rescued him from the neighborhood mobfinally boarded a vehicle that took him out of the place.

The neighbors complained about the tickets. At the beginning of August they asked for the Bs 2.50 fare that was the previous one to be replaced, they are paying Bs 3 at this time. Likewise, they denounced that this ticket is kept until 7:00 p.m. and from that moment rises to Bs 5 and 10, which caused widespread protest.

They asked the mayor to dismiss three secretaries who have to do with this issue, but Napoleon Yahuasi ignored those claims and kept his staff; the climate was getting worse and now it has reached the point of asking for the resignation not only of the mayor, but now they are asking for the resignation of all the councilors for not looking after the interest of the population.
