This Sunday, January 2, 7,546 analyzes were carried out and 955 new cases of coronavirus were detected in Uruguay.
A 72-year-old woman died in Montevideo with the virus and two 64 and 61-year-old men in Maldonado, as reported by the National Emergency System (Sinae).
There are currently 9,292 active cases nationwide24 of those patients are in critical care centers.
Of the cases reported this Sunday, the majority, 447, were from Montevideo.
In Maldonado 105 were detected, in Canelones 94, in Rocha 91, in Durazno 31, in Paysandú 26, in Artigas 25, in Cerro Largo 19 as well as in Rivera, in Colonia 18, in Salto 16, in Lavalleja 15, in Soriano 13, in Flores 12, in San José eight, in Tacuarembó seven, in Florida four, in Treinta y Tres three infections were detected and in Río Negro two.
The coronavirus already has 5,443,041 deaths worldwide.
