The president of the Broad Front (FA), Fernando Pereira, expressed himself on Facebook, after the Minister of Livestock, Agriculture and Fisheries, Fernando Mattos, questioned in the last hours that the mayor of Montevideo, Carolina Cosse, and the authorities of the (FA) did not attend the closing ceremony of the Expo Prado that took place this Saturday.
Given this, Pereira began by recalling that “the Broad Front Listens to You has allowed us to rebuild fluid links with different expressions of a medium that is of enormous relevance for the economic, cultural and social development of our country, the rural environment.” Continuing, he expressed: “under that premise is that, despite not having been invited by the organizers, the Rural Association of Uruguay, I personally prepared to participate in the closing of a fundamental landmark such as Expo Prado.”
Excusing his absence, he stated that it was for personal reasons related to his mother’s health and added that “according to what they inform us, the invitation to the presidency of the main political force in the country was usual, but this year the organizers did not they did.”
«It is not up to us to assess whether it is a success or a mistake on the part of the ARU, but it is up to us to make the information public in the face of Minister Mattos’ statement questioning the absence of our political force. It is clear that the Broad Front participates in the Expo Prado and its departmental governments in Montevideo have contributed to the consolidation of its annual performance », he concluded.
