Pisco exports amounted to US$4.6 million in the first half of the year, which meant a positive variation of 81% compared to the same period in 2021, when the amount amounted to US$2.5 million, reported the Agroexports Management of the Association of Exporters (ADEX).
The United States remains the undisputed leader in the ranking of destinations by adding US$ 2.01 million, with that it achieved an increase of 36.6% and concentrated 43.4% of the total. It is followed by Spain (US$481,000), the Netherlands (US$388,000), France (US$255,000), Belgium (US$245,000) and Germany (US$174,000), out of a total of 35 destinations.
Within the top ten of the list, Germany (757.6%), France (697%), Belgium (498.1%), Colombia (335.8%), Spain (278.7%) and the United Kingdom (238.4%) stood out for their three-digit growth. ).
The union institution pointed out that the greater demand is due to the recognition of the quality of the flagship drink by consumers; however, he considered it crucial to continue working in order to improve its position in other destinations in Europe and Asia.
In this sense, he announced that a group of pisco companies will participate in the next edition of the Expoalimentaria fair, to be held from September 21 to 23 at the Jockey Club Convention Center.
According to the business intelligence note from the Center for Research on Global Economy and Business (CIEN-ADEX), as consumers of spirits continue to search for different flavors, smells and experiences among their options, the growth in demand for distillates will occur favourable, even more so considering the diversity of pisco grapes.
He considered that pisco offers great potential in European markets, such as France, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands and Spain, especially for those that have received recognition and awards at international tasting fairs.

According to CIEN-ADEX, between 2017 and 2021, distillate exports expanded at an annual average of 3.1%. In 2021 it amounted to US$7.2 million, which represented a growth of 81.6% compared to the previous year (US$3.9 million).
The amount for 2021 (US$7.2 million) was the highest in the last 10 years, followed by 2019 (US$6.7 million), 2017 (US$5.6 million) and 2018 (US$5.5 million).
In 2021, the flagship drink reached 38 countries whose ranking was led by the US, followed by Spain, the Netherlands, France, the United Kingdom, Australia, Colombia, Germany and Argentina.
