In Los Santos, Santander, one of the points in Colombia where it trembles almost every day, this Monday they were scared because the earthquake was of magnitude 5, as confirmed by the Colombian Geological Service, SGC.
It was located 9 km from Los Santos, with a depth of 144 km. It was at 1:05 a.m.
Those who felt the movement report that it lasted several seconds and felt strong both on the first and highest floors, “it woke me up and I live on a 13th floor,” said one of those affected by the shock.
It was felt in part of Bogotá, Medellín, Bucaramanga; Floridablanca, Piedecuesta with greater intensity by area of influence in Santander, in Cúcuta and other cities in the country, including in Rubio, Táchira, border area of Venezuela reported that the earth moved.
Many report that the seismic alarm on their cell phones informed them of the movement.

According to the Colombian Geological Service, there would be an old subduction plate in the area, that is, one plate under another, which would cause constant earthquakes, and that is that during the day in La Mesa de los Santos, eastern Colombia, they can feel up to 20 earthquakes.
