Madrid Spain.- The Antonio Guiteras Thermoelectric Power Plant (CTE), in Matanzas, left the National Electric System (SEN) again this Sunday afternoon.

According to the Electric Union of Cuba (UNE) through Facebook, the new service interruption is due to “a leak in the boiler”.

The entity also indicated that “the cooling process began for its subsequent repair.”

The new rupture occurs less than 24 hours after the UNE will inform that Guiteras rejoined the SEN.

“Last minute. Synchronizes the Antonio Guiteras Thermoelectric System to the National Electric System- At the moment it is increasing its load until it reaches 220 MW”, the UNE had indicated this Saturday.

According to the information, this latest break “has no relation to the repair carried out.”

“What review did they do then at the stop”, “Ha Ha Ha, it did not arrive in 24 hours”, “What a pity Guiteras gives me, she did not endure even twelve hours of work”, they expressed from the pages of users who shared the news , since the Electric Union keeps comments on its publication limited.

CubansLast Monday the CTE had been left out of the National Electric System also due to leaks in the boilers.

The repeated breakages Antonio Guiteras and the rest of the country’s thermoelectric plants, with the consequent balance of blackouts, increasingly unsustainable for the island’s inhabitants, have led Cubans to take to the streets on different occasions, as a sign of their discontent. Among them, the popular protests that occurred on August 19 and 20, 2022 in Nuevitas, which are the largest registered against the Cuban authorities since July 11, 2021 (J11).
