A survey revealed that at least half of Americans believe that the United States will cease to be a superpower within the next 10 years. The study carried out by The Economist and YouGov also shows that respondents are concerned about a potential economic collapse.

“Most Americans consider it likely in the next decade that the United States will cease to be a global superpower (50% say this), followed by a total collapse of the American economy (47%). Each of the 15 dire scenarios is considered somewhat or very likely in the next decade by at least 20% of Americans.

After the possibility that the United States ceases to be a superpower, citizens also consider that losing democracy is another possibility. “Citizens say the United States is likely to become a fascist dictatorship (31%) and 21% say it will become a communist dictatorship.”

This Wednesday it became known that the majority of Americans consider that President Joe Biden’s speech in which he attacked the supporters of former President Donald Trump was divisive, according to a Harvard CAPS-Harris poll with The Hill.

“60% of those surveyed said Biden’s speech divided the country, while 40% said the speech brought the nation together and moved it forward. Another 56% opposed the speech, while 44% said they supported it,” the study explained.
