Former President Evo Morales is by far the Bolivian politician who has the most followers on his social media accounts. He has more than 1.4 million followers so far on his Facebook account. This Sunday an expert in the measurement of accounts in social networks revealed that Bolivian politicians or businessmen pay administrators of their accounts to move up in digital preference.

“There are many factors for politicians to turn to foreign companies to help them increase their ‘popularity’ on social networks, but there are three main ones. In Bolivia there is not much digital culture, however in other countries it is normal to manufacture followers; the other factor is that in the country there are no companies dedicated to this sector; and the third factor is safety, in Bolivia hacking cannot be controlled or hacking of the pages”, listed Tonny López, who is dedicated to conducting research on social networks.

But Morales is not the only politician who has many followers, the current president Luis Arce has 602,000 followers on his account and he opened his page on January 29, 2020, long before the electoral campaign and before he was chosen to be the MAS candidate.

The head of state has three administrators in Bolivia and one administrator who is hidden. “The main countries or regions of the people who manage this page include: Bolivia (3). Page administrators who have hidden their location (1)”, indicates the transparency of the Lucho Arce page, which is the certified account of the Head of State.

While the vice president David Choquehuanca has 146,000 followers and he follows nine people. The page was created the day after Arce created his; that is, on January 30, 2020.

In this case, the Vice President also has three administrators of his page in Bolivia and there is a fourth admin who hid his location. In both cases, the pages of the first two leaders do not publish advertisements that circulate in their RRSS.

López stated that the rules of Facebook, now known as Meta, changed recently and for that reason it is no longer possible to know which countries the administrators are from, and therefore, they come out as hidden. In the review carried out until the end of 2021 in the case of former President Evo Morales, there were five administrators in Bolivia and one in Argentina; that is to say that there was a person who managed the Morales page from the neighboring country.

According to these data published by López, until December 2021 the Governor of Santa Cruz, Luis Fernando Camacho it had nine administrators from Bolivia and two from Argentina. This Sunday the transparency of the page indicated that they are 12 administrators in Bolivia and one in Argentina.

In the case of the also former President, Charles Mesa, this had 365,853 followers on Facebook as of December 2021; this Sunday the number of followers had not changed. The page was created in October 2018 and changed its name once.

In this case, table has three administrators in Bolivia and one in Mexico; that is, they manage their page from that country.

the former president, Jeanine Añez, the number of followers fell, until last year it had 391,235 followers. This Sunday, that number dropped to 386,000 people who follow it. The account was created in September 2017.

According to information from Facebook, Áñez has three people who manage her account in the country. It has no administrators outside Bolivian territory.
