Before the passage of hurricane fionawhich would pass near the north coast of the Dominican Republic between Sunday night and Monday morning, the Eastern Electricity Distribution Company (Edeeast) reported that it will remain in permanent session with a technical team to attend to any type of circumstance.
The general manager of EdeeastAndrés Portes, explained that all staff will remain active “as long as necessary to ensure electricity service to citizens, as well as the restoration of energy where the eventual effects of Fiona so require.”
Among the specific actions carried out by EdeeastPortes cited the identification of the circuits that feed hospitals and primary care centers, the supply of the main tank and mobile fuel storage tanks, and the sending of technical personnel from substations to key areas.
Other measures taken in Edeeast include notification to the contracting companies of the activation of the contingency planevaluation of the work programmed in the networks, among others.
Portes headed this Sunday the follow-up work on the execution of his contingency plan which includes the entire technical and human team of the service company to deal with this type of situation.
He argued that the company’s human team Edeeast responsible for executing the contingency plan before the next step to the country of hurricane fiona will remain in permanent session.
The company indicated that the Deputy Minister of Energy and Mines, Rafael Gómez, participated in the meeting held to discuss the action plan to evaluate part of the coordinated work of the national energy sector in the face of the atmospheric phenomenon.
