The National District City Council (ADN) this Sunday deployed 120 trucks of its own and contractor companies and more than 1,300 collaborators in the three districts to clean up the city after the end of the year festivities.
In addition, yellow line equipment owned by the mayor’s office was used, such as a mini loader, a shovel and a retro shovel.
The operation was coordinated by the direction of Urban Cleaning, under the supervision of Mayor Carolina Mejía, who made a tour of the entire central polygon together with the mayor’s office.
During it, commercial areas such as La Duarte, El Conde and the Colonial Zone were also intervened with the aim of reducing the accumulations of waste that were generated during the New Year’s celebration and thus keeping the parks, streets and main traffic routes clear and in order.
The directorates of Urban Cleaning, Environmental Management, Community Works, Urban Infrastructure, Public Services, Municipal Police, Innovation and Special Projects, also the National District Fire Department and the Council of Aldermen participated in this operation.
For her part, Mayor Carolina Mejía urged citizens to collaborate with the management and disposal of waste, since cleaning the city is everyone’s task.
“Despite the pandemic, we have been serving our people with love day and night. I want that today when we go out again we do it with the same love. And we urge our citizens to do their part, that we do ours, we do it with dedication, with our hearts, but we need each one to decide in this new year what to do better for this city, “he said.
