In order for micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) to be sustainable in the long term, banregio expects to support 300 organizations under the program Banregio Mentoring and the goal for 2023 is to reach 400 companies, indicated Alexandra Rivero, Director of Sustainability and Social Responsibility of Regionalcontroller of the banking institution.
The objective of the program is to connect the entrepreneur with a mentor who advises, questions, and guides you in decision-making, through empathetic and results-oriented accompaniment. The main topics covered are: sales, finance, marketing and human resources.
The program emerged as an additional support to the financial services offered by the bank, it is an extra accompaniment and was born with the purpose of listening to what businessmen are asking for, knowing what worries them, what their concerns are, where they fail the most; We know that SMEs are the engine of the economy in Mexico and if they grow, they benefit the economy”, emphasized the director.
In Banregio Mentoring Mainly MSMEs participate, but it is open to any type of company, the only requirement is that they have been established for at least two years; can be enrolled in mentoringbanregio.com.
To date, Banregio’s program has supported more than 1,900 companies with 33,630 hours of free mentoring and 177 free workshops, since 2016. Of the organizations that have participated, 95% recommend the program.
They currently have 136 active companies, of which 51 are from New Lion33 of Jalisco8 o’clock Mexico City and the others in the rest of the country.

The mentoring is personalized, one by one, as if it were a private consultant who contributes his experience and the questioning that he can give to the entrepreneur, without doing his job, said Alejandra Rivero.
