Coronavirus: 20 infections and 18 discharges on Saturday in Cuba

Cuba identified 20 infections due to the SARS-CoV-2 virus this Saturday, when 18 discharges were reported according to the information offered today by the Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP).

Ten provinces reported infections, but none exceeded the five cases identified by Holguín, the highest number considering this information.

In total, 160 people were hospitalized at midnight on Saturday for COVID-19, a disease that in 69 cases was only suspected, while 91 were confirmed active.

The laboratories processed 2,116 samples, and of the 20 positives, 11 correspond to contacts of confirmed cases, while eight included the patients in whom the cause of the infection was not specified. There was a report of an imported case.

By age ranges, 11 included those under 20 years of age, three belong to the range between 20 and 39 years old and two between 40 and 59 years old. Four were over 60 years old.

The Minsap reported a serious bedridden in intensive care, while the fatalities of COVID-19 remained at 8,530, for which the lethality is 0.77% in Cuba.
