Santo Domingo.- The president of the Association of Judges of the Dominican Republic (AJURD), Magistrate Natividad Ramona Santos, advocated on Saturday for respect for human dignity and the constitutional right to honor of members of the Judiciary.
They exhorted the parties that do not feel satisfied with a judicial decision to use the recursive channels that the legislator has made available to them.
The AJURD insisted that the commitment of judges throughout the country is to enforce the Constitution of the Republic and the laws.
The entity supported the position of the Dominican Judges Association for Democracy (JUDEMO), which summoned Deputy Attorney General Yeny Berenice Reynoso to use her recognized skills in criminal prosecution and the strengthening of her institution.
“We join the criteria expressed in the public statement made by the Association of Dominican Judges for Democracy (Judemo) in the face of the demonstrations on social networks by Deputy Attorney General Yeni Berenice Reynoso against Dominican judges.”
While the Judemo said that Reynoso’s expressions are significantly harmful, capable of eroding the credibility and image of justice, affecting judicial independence and due process, and conditioning public opinion to the detriment of what really happened in the judicial setting; which is also sterile for legitimate purposes, for not being presented before the corresponding disciplinary bodies.
The entity that brings together professionals from the country’s judiciary, rejected the actions of the deputy attorney general, Reynoso, who, through her statements on social networks, “overshadows the work, respect, decency and responsibility with which she has been recognized in this period the Attorney General of the Republic”.
