Cuba reported just over twenty positive cases (21) of COVID-19 at the close of this Friday, after the analysis of 1,175 samples for the detection of the coronavirus.
No deaths from the disease were reported during the day, according to the island’s health authorities, while in seven provinces of the country no new infections were reported, as in the Special Municipality of Isla de la Juventud.
In total, 161 people remain hospitalized in Cuba for COVID-19, of which 89 are confirmed active and 72 are suspected. Two patients are in serious condition in intensive care rooms, according to the part of the Ministry of Public Health (Minsap).

Of the 21 positive cases to date, 17 are contacts of confirmed cases and in four people the source of infection is still unknown. No infections were recorded with a source of infection outside the country.
For their part, three of the patients were asymptomatic; and by province, none reported more than 10 cases, although Holguín remained the territory with the highest number of infections with nine.
By sex, those infected are divided into 12 women and nine men, while by age 10 under 20 years of age were positive; from 20 to 39 years old (6), from 40 to 59 years old (3) and two people aged 60 and over.
Finally, the MINSAP report recalls that two people have been evacuated and another 57 have returned to their countries since the start of the pandemic. On the day, 25 patients were discharged.
