Covid-19: Brazil records 40,149 new cases and 205 deaths in 24 hours

Brazil recorded 2,978 new cases of covid-19 in 24 hours, according to the epidemiological bulletin released today (17) by the Ministry of Health. In the same period, 34 deaths of victims of the virus were confirmed. This Saturday, data for the Federal District, Maranhão, Minas Gerais, Mato Grosso do Sul (deaths), Mato Grosso, Rio de Janeiro, Rio Grande do Norte, Roraima, Pernambuco and Tocantins were not updated.Brazil records 2,978 new cases of covid-19 and 34 deaths

Since the beginning of the pandemic, Brazil has had 685,334 deaths from covid-19. The total number of confirmed cases of the disease reached 34,582,063.

Also according to the bulletin, 33,720,345 people have recovered from the disease – 97.5% of the total infected. The country has 176,384 cases are under follow-up. There are still 3,176 deaths under investigation. The occurrences involve cases in which the patient died, but the investigation if the cause was covid-19 still requires additional tests and procedures.
