EITHERlga Ramos, a teacher, advocate for educational rights and a prolific researcher in the field of education, died on Saturday the 17th, after many years of dealing with cancer.
Ramos was an urban planner by profession, but his greatest development was in the analysis of educational policies, a sector in which he focused his investigative work and for which he was a member of the Civil Association Educational Assembly and the Venezuelan Observatory of Education.
Olga Isabel Ramos dedicated her professional life to working on projects with non-governmental organizations such as the National Education Council, the Inter-American Center for Studies and Research for Educational Planning (Cinterplan-OEA), Fe y Alegría; but she also developed projects with the Ministry of Education and the Secretaries of Education of the governments of Carabobo, Monagas and Zulia and the mayor’s office of the Chacao municipality.

A great loss for all the death of @olgaramos. Always supportive, brave, kind and committed to democracy and education. It hurts that she has not seen the reconstruction of the educational system in Venezuela, but she left us her ideas to do the homework. Peace to her soul. pic.twitter.com/Q9PYZ3Dp43

He died @olgaramos.
It is a terrible and painful loss that is compensated by the memory of all that he did and contributed.
A true “civilian hero”, necessary and memorable.
His stories of the battles to get the drugs he required are a testament to official abandonment.

My dear Olga Ramos died.
So much fighting cancer.
So much encouragement up and search for medicines. So much want so much. Today it is not. It’s over. And one remains in the air, without air, with sadness and fear. His origami cranes on my desk always. pic.twitter.com/WpoNyKyKhh— Jacqueline Goldberg (@JacGoldberg) September 17, 2022
