The Ministry of Social Development (MIDES) installed this Friday in the province of Coclé the “Technical Table Beehive Plan”, which seeks to advance the consultations by districts to identify, through the residents, the most priority needs, so that they are intervened, in order to close the inequality gaps that Panama faces
The head of this portfolio, Minister María Inés Castillo López, this Beehive Plan strategy “is implemented at the national level and involves all public sector entities, communities and the population, the private sector, civil society, universities, unions and different organizations, within the framework of the Government Strategic Plan and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development”.
“The Colmena Plan will intervene 17 villages in the districts of Antón, La Pintada, Natá, Olá and Penonomé, through multisectoral intervention that seeks to promote territorial development processes, strengthening public policy and the State’s institutionality in areas of poverty and vulnerability, articulating a series of services aimed at satisfying the fundamental needs of human beings,” the institution said in a statement.
It is expected that the districts of Coclé that will be intervened are: San Juan de Dios, Caballero, Llano Grande, Piedras Gordas, El Harino, Las Lomas, Guzmán, Las Huacas, Olá (head), El Copé, El Palmar, El Picacho , La Pava, Chiriguí Arriba, Río Indio, Toabré and Tulú.
INTERVENTION
The areas include early childhood, nutrition, clean water and basic sanitation, health, education, housing, activities that generate income and entrepreneurship, security, sports and culture, environmental conservation, rural electrification and road lighting and infrastructure.
In addition to Coclé, the Beehive Table has been installed in Chiriquí, Veraguas, Colón, Panamá Oeste, Panamá and Los Santos.
