A note from Provincial Center of the Matanzas Book reported today that the poet from Matanzas Leymen Perez got the International Poetry Prize Sor Juana Ines De La Cruz.
The text assures that Leymen Pérez is one of the Matanzas poets with the most projection and scope with a vast work and titles such as Rubble Numbers, Noise Carver Y transitions. He has received important awards such as the Regino Pedroso, Calendar and the Poetry Prize. The Cuban Gazetteamong others.
About the winning entry countries of the nightthe jury expressed that “from a handling where the image is accentuated from a colloquialism that tends to the philosophical, the scribe warns us of destinations, their anguish, and their freedoms.”
And then: “the book stands out for its interior dramaturgy and the way of conceiving the verse. It is a valuable work, because the author resolves the drama of the journey that underlies contemporary poetry as leitmotif. Risky poetry in the alternation of landscapes with the dynamics of a writing that stands out and gives this text great value, with which the author could win any literary event.
Sponsored by the Association of Writers of Mexico, Arte Poesía por La Paz and El Arco y la Flecha Editores, the prize has an amount of 1,000 USD, to which is added the publication of the collection of poems.
At Sor Juana, 320 works by authors from twenty countries were presented.
