A group of people who were preparing to travel early in the morning to the Island of Taboga, showed their discontent through social networks, due to the mayoral decree No. 11 of December 31, 2021, which regulates the use and transport of coolers with alcoholic beverages and prepared foods.

As the document explains, “the transport of food and alcoholic beverages destined for consumption on the beaches represents a source of contamination and spread of the COVID-19 virus and its variants.”

The decree ensures that failure to comply with these measures will result in the imposition of fines ranging from 50 to 100 dollars and the confiscation of property.
