Concerned about the existence of scammers posing as housing developers, the Panamanian Association of Real Estate Brokers and Developers (ACOBIR) called on citizens to be alert and verify that their brokers are suitable.
They highlighted that there are more than 400 members, with a high level of professionalism and ethical behavior within the real estate sector, that make up the guild.
“We make a call to the community in general for the correct hiring of Ideal Real Estate Brokers, who have the license to practice this profession. It is important to ask the vendor for their license number and verify their information on the MICI website or on the Acobir website to verify that they are a member of our association. With this information, the buyer ensures that he is being attended by a suitable professional”, indicates the president of the Panamanian Association of Real Estate Brokers and Developers, Francisco Cheng.
In our country, the activity of Real Estate Brokerage is regulated and regulated through Decree Law No. 6 of July 8, 1999, which also creates the Real Estate Technical Board in the Ministry of Commerce and Industries and establishes the obligation of have a license to act as broker in a real estate transaction.
