President Alberto Fernández assured this Thursday that he can “turn Argentina into a huge supplier of energy”, what u requiren “new development design” that sees a way to “take advantage of the gas” that the country has and that the world and Argentines need, as defined, in the presentation of the Plan Gas IV and Plan Gas V.

“We have the opportunity that in a first stage we will be able to distribute Vaca Muerta gas throughout the country and reach almost self-sufficiency; and then we will have to offer gas to the world”Fernandez affirmed when announcing the launch of the Gas IV Plan at Government House, together with the Minister of Economy, Sergio Massa.

In addition, the president stated that “The world knows that we are the second largest unconventional gas reserve in the world, that we have gas to supply ourselves and export”.

Meanwhile, Massa stated that the challenge facing the Government is that “Argentina’s energy production in 2027 has the same size and export weight as that of proteins in the gross domestic product”.

And considered that “the country can follow a path that generates in the energy sector a second great player in the gross product together with agribusiness”.
