Two judicial files and a subcommittee of the National Congress were activated after the discovery in the Federal Intelligence Agency (AFI) of a video in which spies, businessmen and former officials of the government of María Eugenia Vidal can be seen designing a strategy to achieve the imprisonment of union leaders.
The beginning, but not the end of this judicial history of unsuspected scope is known: The investigations began after the discovery of a video in an AFI base, although sources who worked on “La Casa” -as exSIDE is known- assure that many more should appear.
The video was presented before the federal justice of La Plata by the organism’s inspector, Cristina Caamaño, accompanied by a complaint in which it was detailed that there can be observed “the organization of a strategy to promote an investigation in which prosecution is achieved. of people linked to trade union practice “.
What you see in the recording is the meeting held in June 2017 by the former Minister of Labor of the Buenos Aires government, Marcelo Villegas; and the mayor of La Plata, Julio Garro, along with other former officials of the Vidal administration, spies and businessmen, at the Buenos Aires headquarters of Banco Provincia, a few meters from the Cabildo.
The video, as it could be reconstructed, was found on a hard drive at one of the AFI bases and not at its headquarters, located on 25 de Mayo Street, a few meters from the Plaza de Mayo.
In that meeting, according to the records, the participants spoke of provoking the unionists of the La Plata construction union to generate a reaction from them and then record them – “wire” them – and then denounce them for threats and achieve their imprisonment.

Who placed that camera in the Multipurpose Room (SUM), on the seventh floor of the Buenos Aires headquarters of Bapro? With what objective? Was Mauricio Macri’s AFI spying on one of Vidal’s bunkers? Why were there three AFI executives at that meeting? These are some of the questions that judicial investigators are already asking themselves.
“Those cameras were installed by technical teams that will have installed similar devices in other places.”A source who knows the internal operations of the spy station assured Télam.
These technicians, the same source explained, are AFI employees who did not join the organization with the Cambiemos government or left when Mauricio Macri’s presidency ended, so if summoned by the Justice, they could well tell who and how. decided to “wire” the Banco Provincia.

The presence of the AFI executives at the meeting did not attract the attention of the source consulted by Télam, who, in addition to knowing those involved, assured that “they used to participate in meetings of this type.”
The spies that appear in the recording would be, according to what was publicly revealed, Juan Sebastián De Stefano (former director of Legal Affairs of the AFI); Dario Biorci (brother-in-law and former chief of staff of the former deputy director of the spy station Silvia Majdalani) and Diego Dalmau Pereyra (former director of Counterintelligence of that organization).
The video in which the three spies are seen planning a strategy together with the officials of the Vidal government was found by the current AFI authorities just days after the Buenos Aires Federal Chamber issued a ruling with which it ruled out that during the Cambiemos management would have developed an illicit association dedicated to illegal espionage.
It was a ruling issued in the case that began in Lomas de Zamora and is known as the “Super Mario Bross” cause, because that was the name of the Whastapp group in which information related to political follow-ups was shared, social leaders, unions, journalists and even people deprived of their freedom.
According to that ruling, signed by judges Pablo Bertuzzi and Mariano Llorens, the spies were self-employed who did not respond to a state structure, but had personal motivations to gather information on different people.
That ruling benefited, among others, the “dwarf” De Stéfano to whom the judges dictated the lack of merit. The video, however, puts him back in the focus of the storm because it places him in a meeting in which public officials plan illegal espionage maneuvers.

Dalmau Pereyra, meanwhile, was not revoked the prosecution.
Those who took note of the presence of these two spies at that meeting in which they spoke of the desire to create an anti-union “Gestapo” were the lawyers Graciana Peñafort and Alejandro Rúa, victims of illegal espionage.
Both asked judge Marcelo Martínez de Giorgi to ask his colleague from La Plata, Ernesto Krpelak, to access the evidence he has in his file.
Congress also moved quickly: the Bicameral Commission for the control of intelligence organizations, headed by Congressman Leopoldo Moreau, formed a subcommission to investigate the issue.
That subcommission, made up of the ruling party deputies Rodolfo Tailhade, Eduardo Valdés and the radical Miguel Bazze, arranged to summon the AFI agents who were in the area of technological operations and could have participated in the placement of the cameras or their manipulation.
In addition, they decided to summon the businessmen who participated in the meeting, then the former public officials and the mayor of La Plata, and finally the spies; while on the way they plan to summon former Governor Vidal, who has not yet publicly referred to the Gestapogate.
