The spokeswoman for the caucus Free Peru, Kelly Portalatinoannounced that his group agreed to vote in favor of the motion of censure against the head of the Ministry of Transport and Communications (MTC), Geiner Alvarado.
The parliamentarian pointed out that, after having had an extensive debate, the majority of legislators from Peru Libre agreed that Alvarado should be removed from office, who is being investigated by the Prosecutor’s Office for allegedly being part of a criminal organization.
“In Peru Libre we have had an arduous debate and we have determined, by majority, that we are going to vote for the censorship of Mr. Geiner Alvarado”, he declared in dialogue with Canal N.
Portalatino also clarified that Peru Libre will not support a possible motion of censure against the Minister of the Interior, Willy Huertawho has recently been questioned about the attempted removal of Colonel PNP Harvey Colchado as head of the People Search Division (Divbus) of the General Intelligence Directorate (Digimin).
“We have shown that Mr. Willy Huerta is not exercising actions that go against every Peruvian citizen, quite the opposite. We are visualizing that he is strengthening citizen security and it is eradicating mercantilism. In that line he has already corrected the mistakes they have made and Mr. Colchado has been taken up again”, he expressed.
At another time, the spokeswoman for Peru Libre said she agreed that the President of the Republic, peter castleaccept the invitation of the head of Parliament, José Williams (Avanza País), so that they meet to discuss in the Legislative Palace.
