New year, new prices: the hikes to come in 2022

2022 has arrived and with it a series of price increases that you must take into account to make adjustments in your annual budget, which you must incorporate so that your income can cover them.

(What will rise with the minimum wage and what with inflation).

One of these increases is that of Soat, which will increase on average 12.24% in 2022.

According to the Financial Superintendency, this increase is influenced by the behavior of the frequency (number of accidents) and accident rate (value of the payment of medical expenses and compensation) of traffic accidents charged to insurance, which presented increases of 2, 4% and 23.7%, respectively, in relation to 2020.

“The system has a negative sufficiency of -0.65%, which implies that the maximum rates in legal daily minimum wages applicable as of January 1, 2022 must be adjusted in the same proportion in order to preserve the social function that has the Soat to guarantee the medical attention of any victim involved in a traffic accident “, explained the Superintendency, the entity that sets this increase.

(The price of Soat for 2022 will have an average increase of 12.24%).

It should be noted that the Compulsory Traffic Accident Insurance (Soat) adjustment is made based on the minimum wage, which this year was 10.07%. However, in this adjustment, the insurance companies also evaluate other criteria, such as the accident rate on the roads, which is one of the main factors that determine the price of Soat each year in the country, or the number of the vehicle fleet.

Another price that rises with the minimum wage in 2022 is the copayment or the moderating fee in EPS, which will increase 10.07%.

The pension contributions of those who earn a minimum wage will suffer this same adjustment.

LEASES, TIED TO INFLATION

For its part, rents will rise based on inflation, which in its measurement at the November cutoff, in its annual variation, is 5.26%.

Keep in mind that this increase does not apply on January 1 in all cases, but when the lease is one year old.

The fees for college tuition, tolls and cadastral appraisals will also rise based on inflation, which will be revised in the first days of 2022 based on Dane statistics.

TRANSMILENIO WILL RAISE $ 150

A new increase is added to the price increases that are coming for 2022. TransMilenio reported this Friday, December 31, that as of January 11 there will be an increase in the service fee.

(From January 11, the TransMilenio ticket will go up).

This hike will be $ 150. Thus, the rate that will govern in the trunk component will be $ 2,650, while in the zone it will be $ 2,450.

GASOLINE IN JANUARY

For its part, the MinMinas announced an adjustment of fuel prices that will govern from this Saturday, January 1 in Colombia, which they will have an average increase of $ 176 per gallon for gasoline and $ 166 for diesel.

Thus, the average price of gasoline, considering the 13 main cities, will be $ 9,048 per gallon, while the average price of diesel will remain at $ 8,884 per gallon (see table city by city).

RISE IN THE ‘CORRIENTAZOS’

Recently Acodrés, a restaurant sector union, warned of an increase in the prices of the popular ‘corrientazo’ as well as the menus of food chains and restaurants, which will increase between 15% and 27% due to the high costs of food and other supplies.

“There has been an increase of 40% on average in the value of raw materials and the impact has been ‘very strong’, which has misaligned the cost structure of the businesses, especially when they represent between 35 and 40 % of the establishment’s income “Guillermo Gómez, from Acodrés, an industry union, told Portafolio.

(There will be hikes in ‘currents’ due to the high prices of inputs).

The cost of the popular ‘rush’, as well as the menus of food chains and high-level restaurants will experience drastic increases – between 15% and 27% – in the coming weeks due to the high prices of food and other supplies.

ADJUSTMENTS IN YOUR BUDGET

Faced with these increases, Scotiabank Colpatria recommends making a budget that incorporates these adjustments so that the salary reaches.

“Increasing the minimum can affect the price of various services such as restaurants, in which attention from people is key to the business. To this is added that since January the consumption tax in restaurants is back in force. Other prices such as rents will be adjusted according to inflation. The assemblies of the condominium complexes can propose increases higher than those of previous years and in this sense, consumers must be careful in their spending plans preparing for these increases “.

PATIOS AND CRANES

As reported by the Bogotá District Mobility Secretariat, the increase was 10.07% “In accordance with the increase in the Minimum Wage in Colombia”.

The new rates for these services begin to take effect from this Saturday, January 1 and vary according to the type of vehicle and the time it remains in the patios.
