They will hold a Tourism Fair to reactivate the economy and the tourism industry

With a view to encouraging tourism, the Mayor’s Office of Panama will hold the First Tourism Fair, which will take place on September 24 and 25 at the Soho City Center facilities from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

The event, which has more than 80 sponsors among tourism companies, public institutions and unions dedicated to tourism, seeks to promote economic reactivation through tourism, an industry that has suffered great damage as a result of the covid-19 pandemic.

The fair is a prelude to the activities carried out for the celebration of World Tourism Day on September 27, which this year takes place in Bali (Indonesia), with the aim of highlighting the change towards the recognition of tourism as crucial pillar of development.

The authorities seek that the tourism fair be a showcase to show nationals and foreigners the tourist offer of the district of Panama, where there is the highest number of hotel occupancy and point of arrival of travelers to the Tocumen International Airport.

On November 14, 2019, the Mayor’s Office of Panama created the Directorate of Tourism as the executing arm to implement actions, programs and projects that promote and promote culture and tourism in the capital district.

On September 25, the closing of the tourism fair, prizes will be awarded to the winners of the photography contest “Make Panama City Shine” organized by the Mayor’s Office of Panama with more than $3,000 in prizes, including a trip in Royal Caribbean’s Freedom of the Seas cruise ship.
