Even though he Congress has a approval digitaccording to the latest IEP survey for The Republicthe fujimorista Patricia Juarez considers that from the Legislature things have not been done badly. He tried to blame this figure on the Government of Pedro Castillo, with 63% rejection.
During the debate on early elections bills in the Constitution Commission, Juárez Gallegos was against the initiative and stated that work has been done to “strengthen the democratic system.”
“As a congressman, I consider that at least we – the group that has worked in Fuerza Popular, the Constitution Commission and those of us who have done a real job of strengthening the democratic system – have not done things wrong. We have done the work that the citizens really expected of us and we have been the support and containment for this democratic system throughout this first year of the legislature”, said the fujimorista.
Patricia Juárez indicated that a project should be promoted to allow the position of congressman to be resignable, so that the parliamentarians who are committed to a cut in the presidential and congressional mandate resign.
“That is what has to be done. Why do you think we have such a low approval rate right now? Because we have at the head the Executive that every day is reviling and attacking Congress everywhere. I don’t think I’ve done things wrong. I think that those of us who have been here and have worked are proud of everything that has been achieved in this first year,” he added.
