Minhacienda and congressmen specify addition to the budget

The General Budget of the Nation (PGN) will finally have an addition of $14.19 billion. This was agreed by the Government and the congressmen of the economic commissions after a meeting held at the Ministry of Finance, where the proposal that pursues this addition was signed, with which the total amount would be $405.62 billion.

According to the deadlines established by law, Congress has until this Thursday, September 15 as a maximum term for the approval of the amount for the validity of the next year.

The amount will now be discussed by the economic commissions of Congress, and These resources would be allocated $254.5 billion to operating expenses.or, $73.06 billion for investment and $77.9 billion for debt service.

It is worth mentioning that yesterday, after the meeting between President Gustavo Petro and the congressmen of the economic commissions, Mauricio Lizcano, director of the Administrative Department of the Presidency of the Republic (Dapre), confirmed that an addition of $14.14 billion had been agreed upon. After today’s meeting, this amount was adjusted higher.

As Lizcano also said, the largest increase in the nation’s general budget in 2023 will be in agriculture, health, total peace and drinking water and basic sanitation.
