Ballet to start the year

It is already a tradition of the Cuban scene: January is received with ballet. The gala of the National Ballet of Cuba in salute to the anniversary of the Revolution is the first presentation of the company in the year and it becomes the peak moment of the cultural proposals on these holidays.

The Gran Teatro de La Habana Alicia Alonso is the usual setting for the function, and this year it will be as well, but with a novelty. Taking into account the particularities of the moment, the group led by Viengsay Valdés will not make a live presentation with an audience, but instead prepared an audiovisual, directed by director Yeandro Tamayo, in which important choreographies of the repertoire filmed in various spaces of the theater take place.

Recognized figures from the cast alternate with young dancers, some debutants in leading roles, in a show that has the artistic direction of Valdés. Scenes from Swan Lake, Carmen, The Sleeping Beauty of the Forest, Dionaea and the Grand Pas de Qatre, among others, can be enjoyed in a special Cubavisión broadcast this Saturday at 5:00 pm
