The party venues and hotel lounges practically kept the table set, the drinks and party favors ready to celebrate the arrival of 2022. International musicians and great venues estimate millionaire losses due to the suspension of the New Year’s parties.

The artists express discontent and regret that the losses range between 200,000 and half a million dollars, but they affirmed that they will respect the restrictions.

The president of the Federation of Owners of Party Rooms, Discotheques, Restaurants, Beer Distributors and Liquor Stores (Fedepro), Juan Carlos Callejas, told Página Siete that, although they abide by the prohibitions, the restrictions will cause a millionaire economic loss to all a productive chain. The representative did not want to give specific amounts for those losses.

“It is not possible to quantify the total losses because, for example, in a restaurant they hire a group, bring food and drink they can invest about 6,000 Bolivians, but in large rooms with six national and international groups they can invest more than 2,000 dollars,” explained Callejas .

The musician Vico Laura, from the Tropicana Caliente orchestra, calculated that the suspension of the festivities will generate a millionaire loss. “At least, per group, between 200 thousand and a half million dollars are going to go into the water. The movement is not only music, it is an endless chain of the informal economy, “he said.

The representative and vocalist of Llajtaymanta, Orlando Andia, said that they respect the government’s determinations although they mean great economic damage. Now, they had to return the money from the contracts. “We are returning the total advance of the contracts that have been given and the return is total, without discounts. We are giving back everything that has been given to us, “Andia told this medium.

The owner of the local Chach’y Pub on Sagárnaga Street, Karla Medina, pointed out that the willingness to attend until 11:59 p.m. does not alleviate the economic loss, since most of the rooms were organized to attend until dawn.
