The Minister of Labor and Labor Development, Doris Zapata Acevedo, held a meeting with authorities from the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), for the planning and monitoring of a public policy for employability and labor insertion specifically for young people and women or people in vulnerability conditions.
This approach is based on having the participation of employers and entities dedicated to training, in an instance of dialogue, which will recognize, in terms of quality, the performance, knowledge, abilities, skills and attitudes of the workers ( as), students and professionals to meet the needs of the Panamanian labor market.
“Opening new job opportunities, promoting training and academic strengthening, focused on people and decent work, is what is sought with this exchange of experiences and cooperation jointly with the IDB, so that it allows us to achieve high-impact results in the economic reactivation of the country” indicated the Minister of Labor.
Laura Ripani, Chief of the IDB’s Labor Markets Division, said “We are pleased to be a strategic partner of Panama” to implement global good practices in employment and development by applying a focus on concrete strategic objectives in vulnerable populations, such as youth. and the women.
Alfredo Mitre, National Director of Employment mentioned that in order to contribute to the fulfillment of these objectives, this Tuesday, September 13, the international seminar will be held: Recovery and Promotion of Employment: the role of public employment services, organized jointly with the IDB. , to provide the necessary tools that contribute to transforming the Panamanian labor market and promoting the recovery of employment with principles of equity and inclusion.
