The US summons 40 former Trump officials to testify for electoral interference in 2020

As published on Monday by The New York Times, which cited sources close to the investigation, in recent days the US Government -currently led by Democrat Joe Biden- would also have confiscated the phones of two of the main advisers of Trump.

Among those summoned to testify are former New York Police Commissioner Bernard Kerik and former Trump social media director Dan Scavino.

Former Trump campaign manager Bill Stepien and campaign finance chief Sean Dollman also received the notice.

As for the two confiscated phones, according to the Times they would belong to former Trump lawyer Boris Epshteyn and campaign strategist Mike Roman.

The main information that the Department of Justice seeks with this investigation is about the alleged attempt by Trump’s entourage to get representatives who had not been elected in the elections by the state of Georgia, Pennsylvania and Arizona to pose as legitimate and support the then president.

Currently, the former president has numerous open lawsuits against him in various courts in the country.

This Monday, his lawyers demanded that the judge in charge of the lawsuit filed by Trump for the FBI search of his mansion in Florida not accept a request from the Government to continue reviewing the seized material.

The FBI searched Trump’s mansion in Mar-a-Lago, Florida, for taking classified documents from the White House.
