The regional governor of Cajamarca, Messiah Guevara Amasifuenpointed out that the new president of the Board of Directors of the Congress of the republic, Joseph Williams Zapatahas the great challenge of vindicating the Parliament with Peru, by changing the confrontation with the Executive with the promotion of legislative initiatives related to education, health and agriculture.
“He has to be a leader and in this way promote laws and legal regulations that allow the development of the peoples, in the different productive activities that range from healtheducation, small and medium-sized companies to defend the environment”, he remarked to La República.
It is necessary to indicate that José Williams of the Avanza País party prevailed with 67 votes over Luis Aragón (Popular Action) who obtained 41 votes from the members of Parliament. In this way, he will succeed Lady Camones, who was censored after the broadcast of audios with the leader and candidate of the Alliance for Progress (APP) César Acuña.
He stressed that the new head of the Board of Directors must adopt a neutral, mature and statesmanlike position. “José Williams has to think about Peru, which means rejecting the interests of the group, and putting aside the unsuccessful confrontations with the Executive. It has the great challenge of claiming the Congress with Peru”he emphasized.
He added that the ex-military should wear the “Democrat overalls”, because the projects are conceived in consensus and in democracy. “He is expected to act with democracy, which implies not being a soldier of Congress, but of democracy”concluded the regional authority.
