The former president of the National Council of Private Enterprise (Conep), and president of the Association of Users of the Colon Free Zone, Severo Sousa, referred this Monday to the culmination of the first phase of the single dialogue table and the beginning of the second phase, stating that the achievements made so far are temporary and not sustainable.
“They are not sustainable simply and simply because being adopted or decided by a minority group in the country, they cannot be sustainable because sectors that are the ones that can make this sustainable over time have been left out of the decision, mainly to the productive and business sector,” he specified.
Sousa stressed that this dialogue must take place at a site that is legally constituted, that has the formality that can give sustainability and follow-up to a formal dialogue, that has the greatest representativeness of the country. “We believe that this space should be the National Concertation that was created for this purpose in the government of President Torrijos and has borne several fruits,” he said.
