A new controversy unleashed this Monday the intervention of the Minister of Mines and Energy, Irene Vélez, in the Fifth Commission of the Senate, in which she explained the actions that the National Government has been carrying out to stop the increase in electricity service rates.

In her speech, Minister Vélez was interrupted by the president of this commission, Senator Inti Asprilla, who reminded her that the reading of written speeches during a political control debate, such as the one that was taking place at that time, is not allowed.
The congressman cited the “Fifth Law” in the interruption and asked “Be careful not to give the impression that you are reading.”
