The National Administrative Department of Statistics (Dane) delivered the informality report for the May-July 2022 quarter, according to which, for the national total, the proportion of informal workers was 58.1%which meant a decrease of 1.7 percentage points compared to the same quarter of the previous year (59.8%).

This is the second report delivered by the statistical authority with an indicator that covers the entire national territory. Likewise, the Dane reported that for the 13 cities and metropolitan areas, the informality rate in the quarter was 44.3%, a reduction of 1.0 percentage points in relation to the same period of 202.
Likewise, for the 23 cities and metropolitan areas, the proportion of informality was 45.6%, which meant a decrease of 1.2 percentage points compared to the same period of the previous year (46.8%).

For the analysis period, of the 23 cities and metropolitan areas, those with the highest proportion of informality were: Sincelejo (69.2%), Valledupar (67.8%) and Quibdó (65.9%). Meanwhile, the cities with the lowest proportion of informality were: Manizales (35.3%), Bogotá DC (36.8%), and Medellín (40.0%).

For the national total, the proportion of informal men in the moving quarter May – July 2022 was 60.0%, which meant a decrease of 2.5 percentage points compared to the same quarter of the previous year (62.6%). In the case of informally employed women, it was 55.3%, which represented a decrease of 0.2 percentage points compared to the moving quarter May – July 2021 (55.5%).
