The Minister of the Interior, Federico González, argued that those who do not want to receive security do not help the Police. He said this in relation to the former governor of Amambay, Ronald Acevedo, as well as the murdered journalist Humberto Coronel, since both refused to have police custody, thus leaving themselves at the mercy of the criminals.
The Minister of the Interior, Federico González, referred in an interview with 780 AM to the crime of communicator Humberto Coronel in Pedro Juan Caballero. In that sense, he indicated that it is a lie that they are not providing care to the residents of that area and rejected the expressions of the former governor of Amambay, Ronald Acevedo, who is currently running for the PJC Intendancy.
“The Police act correctly, as it should be. Those responsible have been reached, in this case the one who acted last week has been identified. We also don’t get much support from them, or understanding. They do not want protection when it is offered to them. I do not share and firmly reject their position, ”he attacked.
“The National Government Police acts with absolute will and transparency. It is a situation that has been dragging on for several years, unfortunately. We do not want to change, but we do not have the support of some of them, in particular the former governor. They don’t want to receive us, (Ronald Acevedo) doesn’t want to dialogue with the Police, it closes. Your colleague who passed away lived in his house. He was offered security, he was put on security, he refused. The former governor himself rejected several times, we gave him an armored vehicle, he rejected it, used it for a while and then returned it, ”he added.
González also rejected the mistreatment to which police personnel are subjected despite the fact that they only carry out their work in favor of citizens.
On the other hand, he also rejected the supposed release in the zone of acts of the Honor Colorado movement for assaults by tortolos. “I can assure you that it is not. Unfortunately, these events happen in different places, in many places, but under no circumstances will this be the case. It is about covering all the spaces, unfortunately there is not enough to cover all the spaces of the national territory. The National Police strives and takes risks. Many times they tell us ‘we do what is within our power and finally they come out after a few hours, they make fun of us and threaten us,’” he said.
